Anything missing with Amyloid protein AA? - goodman
#1
It's involved in 2nd amyloidosis. This type of amyloid's derived from serum amyloid-assoc-protein or SAA which is an acute phase reactant
Secondary amyloidosis is a complication assoc w/ chronic infections like tuberculosis and bronchiectasis (and various non-infectious inflamatory illness)
In the test they give you a history of foul-smelling sputum and the massively dilated ariways suggesting BRONCHIECTASIS.
