Hi iam an IMG and have completed my MD -dermatology in my home country recently , i have finished USMLE Steps 1/2/ CS. I would like to know how competitive is Dermatology residency in US , and also i would like to know if my three years experience as a post grad would be helpful in applying for other specialities like IM/FM.

Derma residency is quite competitive in US. I personally don't know any IMGs who have made it through. When PDs looks at an application, they see it as a whole so your post grad will help you when and if you are appearing for an interview.But to get to an interview, you need good scores and good LORs from US clinicians.
