what r Step 1 Diet and Step 2 Diet . When r they applied as treatment.

100 - 130 ------- CAD,DM,PAD ideally shud have LDL below 100.If they have between 100 and 130 on first check up , Shud we start Statins ASAP or use some DIET1 or DIET2 alone or with statins....plz explain

130 - 160 -------- with 2 or more risk factore.LDL goal less than 130.But if between 130 -160 on FIRST check up..what next? Statins ASAP or DIET ALONE?

160 - 180 ----- Similarly for no risk patients...what if they have LDL in this range on first check up.Start Statins asap or diet alone ?

IN WHAT CONDITIONS DO WE SELECT 'DIET ALONE' AS NEXT STEP IN INTERVENTION IN CASE OD INCREASED LIPIDS

1.goal is 100 ..for hx of cad or dm..start treatment if above 100 with statin
in this case no diet at all...just start rx.
2.goal is 130 for any patient with = or >2 risk factors star treatment if above than 160
3.goal is 160 for <2 risk factors or no risk factors...start rx if above 190
ppl are divided in 2 grps
.....................<2 risk f./no risk factors.....................................................=>2 risk factors
1.reassure and .......<160 the gaol............................................................<130 the gaol
repaet check in

2.diet.....................160-189......................................................................130-159
3.medication............>189.........................................................................>159
so if hx of cad and dm start med.at 100 all times
if one risk f or no...at 189,qnd for 2 or more risk factors at 159..
i.e 30 above the gaol...diet....if more than30 above the gaol medication.
