Hi all,
Has anyone got your J1 visa approved in chennai embassy recently.
Today one of J1 applicants visa has been rejected becoz of the misinterpretation of salary(ie section 5)..which says.."during the period covered by this form, the total estimated financial support(in US $) is to be provided TO the exchange visitor by: so and so program:amount in figures"..
The visa consular asked the applicant that how are you going to pay such huge amout as fee..(may be instead of reading as "TO the exchange visitor" he would misread as "BY the exchange visitor")
He failed to understand it is the program which pays the applicant and not the other way around.
He took the form inside and discussed with somebody else and told the applicant that he can not issue the visa.
He did not ask any other documents and also not paid attention to the applicants explanation.
I do not know what to say and i really feel sorry for my friend.
It seems he asked to apply for H-1 visa..i don't understand why he asked to do so..
i have my visa interview on June 10th..I thought J1 visa approval rate is almost close to 100%..
It is proving me wrong..
Plz post us your experiences and suggestions for my friend as early as possible...and also for rest of us what to do if the same thing happens in next few days..
