I am img, got canadian citizenship last year. Just cleared step1. is there anyone here knows what procedure a canadian img has to go through in order to get h1 or j1 visa for residence in u.s.? thanks!

Being a Canadian IMG is like being another IMG ...the only difference is that you will not need a visa for the interviews ..and that being a canadian ,you can get the J1 visa at the border crossing... so It is a +, and something that you should emphasize when interviewing with the program directors because they are all scared about the Visa issue.

i found several sites for canadian imgs. this is one of them http://www.usmile.us/rescan.htm
according to what wrote at this site, it seems that the only option for canadian imgs is h1b visa. I'd appereciate ur comments. thanks!

If you think about staying in the US , you can go for H1... For the J1 too, you can have a waiver and stay.
It is possible to come back to canada to work afterward, I know people who have done it even without being Canadian citizens.

do u know which residency programs they were in u.s.. I heard only top programs like Harward affilitated,etc, can be recognized in canada. is that true?
