idea,

your friend did not apply to the NRMP so s/he will not be eligible to participat to the scramble.

na00229,

you can not update your CV for the scramble anymore. Only three documents you can change are your profile, personal statements, and new LORs.

kompete,

tehcnically you can participate in the scramble without having your exam results but most programs considers the applicants who have all their exams passed allready.

@bilal,

We can apply only 30 programs for 1st day through NRMP. I have no idea, is there any way to participate the scramble outside NRMP.

Is there some one who knows about this?

Hi forever07, pathology11,
what to do if the unfilled programs are not those we have applied through eras? Can we still apply to them? My other doubt is, does the unfilled positions in programs we applied and those we have not applied already, carries the same weight? I mean is there any increased chance for those we applied apready?
Other doubt - can we apply to different programs? For ex, one have applied only to IM, but during scramble, can we apply to programs other than IM?

123match2011,
if the unfiilled programs are not those you applied during the match: That is absolutely fine becasue during the scramble you can choose ANY specailty, ANY programs you applied during the match OR not. So if 1939 programs available in ALL specialties, and you did not apply any of those programs during the regular season, you still are elgible to apply any 45 of them. so your question if you applied IM only , you can still apply to surgery during the scramble.

FAXING documents:
you dont have to apply any programs through fax, but it is optional and acceptable this year becase some programs may never look up your application since they get thousands applications in one day. It increases chances!
