The area around DMC/WSU is not as bad as its made out to be. Many residents even live very close to the hospital. You can also stay in areas like Royal Oak and Madison heights which are very safe and good and are only 15-20 min drive from the hospital. Many residents stay in these areas as well. So imo go for wayne state.
