you dont need to go home,but at any point you leave US you need to stamp the visa before you can reenter.You can always stay in us without stamping the visa,but once you leave us,you need a stamped visa to re enter

Hi BT, hospitals get the contract or letter of intent sigend after both the parties agree to the pre match. The actual papaer work starts only after the actual match date i.e is mid march. I suggest to get the visa stamted out side the US as it will give you the ability to travel in and out of US easily. This is my 2 cents.
