This q, is from NBME, for other people's - juneflower

please could some one make it more clearer,(hoping for 99 or juneflower or any other person

according to FA, median nv and ulnar nv are flexors and it went on to say that the motor deficit of affectation of ulnar nv will be: can't flex the fingers; can't abduct/oppose the thumb.

with this knowledge , i will go for C-flexion of all fingers
Since the adduction(oppose) in the answer options did say all finger meanwhile it only affect the thumb leaving out other fingers.

please this is what clarifying, those that have FA should check pg 344(2008 edition)

sorry guys, i got it wrong . It is fracture of the supracondylar humerus or wrist swelling that will cause the motor deficit i listed above but fracture of the medial epicondyle will cause claw hand-cant adduct thumb; cant abduct or adduct fingers

Hey..i think ans is D..med epicondyle damade causes ulnar nerve injury..

ulnar supplies 4th n 5th lumbricals and interossi (palmar n dorsal)

damage cause inability of flex 4th n 5th finger only ,, so ans C is wrong both median n ulnar damage cause effect all the fingers to flex..

addction n abduction of all fingers is effected by only ulnar...
ulnar also supplies adductor pollicies to thumb so it is also effected..

answer s D.
