Vincristine prevents polymeriztion of microtubule, while paclitaxel hyperstabilizes the already polymerized microtubules preventing separation of the mitotic spindle. In chidiak higashi, there is defect in microtubule polymerization so mechanism similar to vincristine/vinblastine and not to paclitaxel.
