augmentin,

ok, you have some research background...so any serious research jobs more or less seeks PhD training or process of completing PhD , or lots of years experience in research for these kinds of higher paying research jobs like assistant, investigator, etc. Maybe I am wrong about this. yeah, MD with no residency, not a fun place to be, it f'n sucks

MY STORY
I Myself, was sitting where you are sitting right now. Yes, I was once a Medical School school student. Studying for exams was never quite easy and USMLE exams were a struggle. Then came the one day that changed everything - the day I failed the USMLE.

Failing the USMLE was one of the most devastating, crushing, and heartbreaking experiences of my life. Not only was I aware that I would have to wait another 12 months before getting a residency but I knew that I didn't have the money to continue taking the exam. I had to pass the second time around or I wouldn't be a PGY-1. I just didn't have the funds to take the exam a third time, and I needed a job to pay my loans and support myself.

But before taking the USMLE again I knew I needed to do one thing - I had to figure out what I did wrong in the first exam and not make the same mistakes twice. So then began my struggle to find a TRUE boutique tutoring service- that was not some big name de-personalized commercial unfeeling program.

Finding a USMLE tutor was grueling back then (2009)- and it still is. There was only one certain resource that is available online, personalized with needed live help, and to top it off gives a 100% guarantee! AND IT WAS TOUGH TO FIND IT…

Taking the USMLE the second time was grueling but armed with this unique online, personalized (with needed live help),100% guaranteed service I passed the USMLE the second time and NOW the story continues-with YOU!

This service knows how hard it is to take exams. But they also knows that it is more important to get it right the first time or correct your mistakes quickly so that you can ultimatley succeed. This is why they wants to help you succeed as fast as possible.

so what is to be done then? I guess it helps to know people , or get out and meet people to try and help you, then?. Return to training for certification for PA, MA, NP, MLT, etc? Apply to lab or clinical research jobs? Are there others that are finding difficulty finding something to do with MD but no residency? Anyone out there with advice, sincere, critical, but stuff that's useful please?

thanks folks just above, this helps augmentin and those who also fit the description of the thread title?

for all the unmatched applicants, is it very difficult to locate a worthwhile observership/clerkship/externship? I mean obviously it helps to have contacts/connections/cash to pay for this, but is getting accepted to one very difficult, like easier said than done...? I was to do an observership a couple yrs ago thru a connection but did not happen due to program dropping the observership training opportunity, supposedly...

I mean really, for any job IV in the USA in the near future, I think I have to lie about wanting to ever work in Residency to work in the future whilst iv'ing and perhaps working meanwhile at a job like flipping burgers(I'm not a great driver so Taxi is not the best choice). #$%&#!!!!

just for the ell of it, I went to ECFMG website to see what kind of careers that are out there with them, for us; only like jobs of the likes of being related to Step 2 CS mainly, which a good number of us in this thread probably did not have too pleasant a time with...talk about adding insult to injury...oh well, you know, keep on dreaming and reach for the stars
